Lots of Sweeties, Bit of Icing sugar and Blood??????????

Evening all

Finally I have started to craft a again.  Yay.  I bought a cross stitch set off ebay thinking the pattern would be on the bit I have to cross stitch on.  It wasn't!  This was hard!!  But I did it, yay :D

This was what I had to work from.

I know I made some mistakes but I think it turned out quite well.

I then put it in a clippy thing that cost me 39p and used some craft card from my stash to make it look nice.  I just hope my granddad likes it.  And the best bit, I sent all the fathers day cards TODAY so they will hopefully get there on time, maybe for the first time ever!!!!!!!!!!! :o

As I was feeling a bit crafty I thought I would have a go at making hubbies fathers day present.  I bought the stuff yesterday for a sweet bouquet thingy.  Here it is

As you can see there are 4 polystyrene hearts.  Thought that the kebab sticks would be ok as how much do sweets weigh.  ALOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So far so good, thought I would cover 2 of the hearts in premade icing sugar and stuck in mug in rest of icing sugar.  This is where it went wrong.  I tried using sugar water to stick the flying saucers on and icing sugar in the squeezie thing for the haribo.  This did not turn out at all well.  So out came the cocktail sticks which ended up with me spiking underneath my nail and lots of blood.  It took most of the box of haribo to do one side.

Therefore side 2 had to be flying saucers.  Some of them are put on with cocktail sticks and then I used the icing squeezie thing to stick more on top so you cant see any spaces.

Had to add more sticks as it was quite heavy and put éclairs around the base.  This is side 1

And this is side 2

  And with cello

I would also like to add that I have new found respect for anyone who makes sweet trees.  I used £6 of stuff for these (with sweets leftover), it was hard and I stabbed myself numerous times so to pay someone £10 to £15 to put it all together, if I had the money, I would!  My plan to make one of these for the kids for their birthdays is unlikely to happen!!!  But am glad I have made one.  Wonder if a malteaser one on sticks would be easy...............................................

Have a great evening all

Magical Sparkley Unicorn Poop

Evening all

As the title says, today I made magical sparkley unicorn poop for the kids lunch boxes next week.  Here is a picture of if, although when I told the kids I was making magical parkley unicorn poop, their faces were a picture - that is when I should have had the camera out!!!!!!!!!! lol

Am still looking on Pinterest for inspiration.  I did make a bun ring for my hair this afternoon out of a pair of socks that were meant to be a sock monkey.  But that isn't really worth a photo.

Anyone got any ideas on how to get my crafting groove back? :D

Dont Laugh.....

Evening all

So, this week I decided to make myself a hat.  Found a pattern and thought it looked nice, followed their instructions except my crochet hook was bigger than the one they used so I thought the hat would come out big.  This is it

Like I said, I have lost my mojo.  Wonder if it will fit any of my daughters dolls for teddy's.

Got to be honest, that has now put me off from making more crochet stuff.  Am still looking around and have a huge list of things to make, quite a few of them sewing, its just finding time and finding the money for all the material I want to buy!!!!! ;-)

Look What I Found..........

Evening all

It appears that most years I find stuff in the house/garden.  We have been here nearly 6 years and in that time we have found wicker furniture in summer house, hoover in attic, flymo in shed after spending hours trying to cut the grass with my rubbish lawn mower, a tent that the kids use, small dolls house, the doorway in the living room (ok it was an old one that lead to kitchen but still a surprise), and today, in the attic we found lots of paint and behind the paint in the boarded up chimney breast in attic was 3 demijohns.  It was only a few years ago I was looking for something to make wine in.  Am now undecided if I should use them for wine or sell them (hubby hoping for later), part of the reason I am thinking of selling them is the dead spiders in them.  Will take a lot of sterilizing for me to use them!!!!!   Here they are, dusty, still with spiders in, currently on the ebay pile.

And here are my £4.99 neon pink willies that came with a free umbrella!   No one is going lose me now are they lol

Surely I now must have gone through every single shed/attic/cupboard and there is nothing else to find.  Roll on next year, maybe there is gold under the floor boards!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

BBQ Duck ;-)

Evening all

We went away to 'The Lodge' again this weekend.  A weekend of the kids out on their bikes and playing with new friends and just having fun in the sun.

Here are the ducks that came to say hello first thing in the morning.  They even came back when we had the bbq out, that was brave of them, quite fancied a bit of duck!!!!! lol

And here are the views from the patio

Hopefully we can go back again soon.

Hope you all had a good bank holiday weekend.

Why does it rain when we go away??????????

Evening all

We have been away this weekend to The Lodge (my sisters posh static) and it was great except for the rain. :(  When we got there we went to the entertainment (2 of the kids up on stage but makes a change from me so I am not complaining lol)  and yesterday the kids managed a few hours on their bikes before it rained a lot and we left late so they could do a bit more riding today as the weather was so much better.  Luckily they put on a film on a Saturday afternoon so we took some popcorn and fruit shoots and watched Brave.  Kids are in bed, totally warn out :D

I only managed this photo sadly due to the bad weather but the squirrel is on the tree next to The Lodge and I took it whilst I was in the kitchen.

Hopefully when we go next time I can get some nicer pictures in the sunshine!!!!

Rainbow Cake

Evening all

Here is something to make you smile.  Rainbow Cake.  The kids love it, I made this one last week.

And this one I made today with less food colouring, its gone more swirly as well :s  Kids love it :D

So, the receipe.  Usual sponge receipe and then split into seperate bowls and mix different colours into each.  Then pour into the cake tin and cook for the same amount of time you usually would cook a sponge.  Simples :D

I hope you enjoy making it.
