Look What I Found..........

Evening all

It appears that most years I find stuff in the house/garden.  We have been here nearly 6 years and in that time we have found wicker furniture in summer house, hoover in attic, flymo in shed after spending hours trying to cut the grass with my rubbish lawn mower, a tent that the kids use, small dolls house, the doorway in the living room (ok it was an old one that lead to kitchen but still a surprise), and today, in the attic we found lots of paint and behind the paint in the boarded up chimney breast in attic was 3 demijohns.  It was only a few years ago I was looking for something to make wine in.  Am now undecided if I should use them for wine or sell them (hubby hoping for later), part of the reason I am thinking of selling them is the dead spiders in them.  Will take a lot of sterilizing for me to use them!!!!!   Here they are, dusty, still with spiders in, currently on the ebay pile.

And here are my £4.99 neon pink willies that came with a free umbrella!   No one is going lose me now are they lol

Surely I now must have gone through every single shed/attic/cupboard and there is nothing else to find.  Roll on next year, maybe there is gold under the floor boards!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

BBQ Duck ;-)

Evening all

We went away to 'The Lodge' again this weekend.  A weekend of the kids out on their bikes and playing with new friends and just having fun in the sun.

Here are the ducks that came to say hello first thing in the morning.  They even came back when we had the bbq out, that was brave of them, quite fancied a bit of duck!!!!! lol

And here are the views from the patio

Hopefully we can go back again soon.

Hope you all had a good bank holiday weekend.

Why does it rain when we go away??????????

Evening all

We have been away this weekend to The Lodge (my sisters posh static) and it was great except for the rain. :(  When we got there we went to the entertainment (2 of the kids up on stage but makes a change from me so I am not complaining lol)  and yesterday the kids managed a few hours on their bikes before it rained a lot and we left late so they could do a bit more riding today as the weather was so much better.  Luckily they put on a film on a Saturday afternoon so we took some popcorn and fruit shoots and watched Brave.  Kids are in bed, totally warn out :D

I only managed this photo sadly due to the bad weather but the squirrel is on the tree next to The Lodge and I took it whilst I was in the kitchen.

Hopefully when we go next time I can get some nicer pictures in the sunshine!!!!

Rainbow Cake

Evening all

Here is something to make you smile.  Rainbow Cake.  The kids love it, I made this one last week.

And this one I made today with less food colouring, its gone more swirly as well :s  Kids love it :D

So, the receipe.  Usual sponge receipe and then split into seperate bowls and mix different colours into each.  Then pour into the cake tin and cook for the same amount of time you usually would cook a sponge.  Simples :D

I hope you enjoy making it.

A Change for the Better????

Evening all

As you can see I have changed the title of the blog.  Rather than it just being for the crafts that I make (or not as the case may be), I thought how about adding the little things in life that make you smile, or even the big things if when there are any.

So, flowers because when I went to Asda today I bought these reduced from £5 to £1.40, still more than I usually like to pay but I havent had flowers for so long and they are lovely even though my flower arranging skills leave a lot to be desired.

And while I am showing you my kitchen widowsill, here are the tomato plants I planted a few weeks ago, they really need to be repotted now.

And teapots......  A while a go, infact several years ago I bought a teapot in a charity shop.  It is a 1 mug teapot, well, 1.5 mugs which is actually ideal for me in the morning, just the right amount.  Anyway, I stopped using it even though it made the cup of tea quite a bit nicer and without the floaty bits on top that I hate, so I have dug it out and am now using it for my morning cuppa (and a half).  So here it is.

Just looking at these photos, makes me smile. :D  Have a good evening.
