I made one

Evening all

Last weekend we had lots of visitors,  a bbq with all our visitors and lots of drinkies. It was the weekend before my birthday.  Whilst mowing the lawn this was wandering around the garden. And yes I did keep an eye out for mummy as she has a habbit of attacking the neighbours.

As I said it was the weekend before my birthday and my crafty friend, the bobble lady, made this for me, I love it.

So I received my vanishing ink pen, I also have a friend who's birthday is coming up, she has just given me champers so I wanted to do something nice. I trawled the internet looking for sayings and pictures and came up with this.

Dug out some fabric and embroidery threads

And made this. Maybe yellow wasnt the best colour to use. It says 'dogs leave pawprints in your heart' and I really like it.

It took me all afternoon and most of the evening to make. I forgot how fiddly embroidery is and how much it hurts when I stab myself, several times.

Need to make more hoop art, its great fun if a little painful.

Eeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkk They Have Arrived

Afternoon

My delivery arrived, so excited to start. I do have to wait for another delivery though, a vanishing pen as I think embroidering freehand is a bit ambitious for me at the moment.  This is it. I have loads of designs going round my head and have drawn a few make.

I will be using these for one of them, I want to make them using crochet, buttons and embroidery although not sure every one will have all 3 but i think most will.

We were at Silverstone at the weekend watching the grand prix, before the race the Red Arrows had a display, I think this was my favourite bit. How romantic to be proposed to under this, I am already married so too late for me.

Need to find all the materials I need, I have decided on an easy one to begin with so watch this space..............

I Finally Upcycled :D

Evening all

Finally after looking at blogs, pinterest and searching google I had an idea of what to do with my skirt and summer dress.

So I started with a denim  mini skirt and a sun dress.

I cut the bottom off the skirt and the top off the dress, pinned together, added a under skirt as dress a bit see through and sewed.

I hand sewed lace over my machining and then started on a rosette, I used both materials.

I love the rosette.  And ta da, finished. It is mid calf length, not as long as the photos show.

I am very impressed with my first attempt.  Want to make something else straight away lol

Must get on with the rabbid without getting side tracked.

Buttons, Witches and Scarecrows, now thats a combination

Evening all

I had a spare few minutes, well about an hour whilst hubby out so wouldnt complain about the sewing machine going. I knocked up these 4 bandanas.

The other day whilst looking at different facebook pages, I found one selling witches, in particular, kitchen witches, so obviously I had to do some research on this as I love my kitchen and witches ;-) so this is what I found and made

Look who's landed in your kitchen
Bringing fortune to your home
It's me the lucky kitchen witch
Your special little gnome

I'll end burnt pots
I'll keep meals hot
I'll do such magic chores
For I'm your lucky kitchen witch
Keep me safe by your kitchen door

So here she is, I love her and will be making one for anyone who moves house or maybe birthday/Christmas.

So the loom banding is still going stong in the nutty house. I bought these plastic cases for the kids to keep their loom bands in. As you can see it doesnt even hold a pack, not the bargain I thought I had.

So I have put buttons in it instead. Only another 3 to find uses for.......

Last Saturday I took the kids to an adult education event making scarecrows. These are now in the garden protecting the seeds the kids planted Saturday afternoon.

Saturday was a busy day for us. After planting the seeds we had a epic family baking session.

Even the boys got involved. We made jam tarts, lemon curd cakes, choc cakes, cheese pastries and pink fairy cakes. All delicious.

And after such a busy day, what better way to end it, home made chinese, tastier than the takeaway

Thats all from me. Am working on a rabbid that needs to be finished.

Hot Pads and Olaf

Evening all

Whilst looking at blogs for ideas on what to put in my new dehydrator,  omg I love it, kale crisps and tomorrow bacon jerky, I found the cutest hot pad. So I had to make myself one, as you can see it didnt start too well

So I made some more (for sale in my folksy store)

I have also made this Olaf for my friends daughter.  The problem is I didnt use a pattern, I didnt write down what I did and now all 3 of my kids want one each!

This is hubbies fathers day present off the kids, they loved making it and he was really pleased to receive it.  Not sure I will top that next year.

And here are some cucumber and kale crisps.  I need more glass jars as the dehyrated food looks so pretty in them :D
